About

Jesse W Spencer is a musician/singer/songwriter from Northern Colorado. He writes, records, and produces his recordings, as well as usually playing every rhythm instrument on them.
Throughout high-school, Jesse honed his skills as a percussionist and by graduation, at age 15, was presented the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award. He had also performed with the All Star Jazz Band, St. Vrain Valley Honor Band, and the Tri-State Honor Band.
During the summer following graduation, Jesse performed drums on his first studio album “Papercut” – the debut record by Josiah’s Mirror. Soon after, Ian Stewart asked him to join Running Five – an Acoustic/Rock band. Running Five quickly won a local battle of the bands, which landed them a record deal with two-time Grammy nominee, Butch Hause – the former touring bass player for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. The band soon become local favorites and continued to play at venues such as The Oriental Theater, Larimer Lounge, and the Boulder Band Shell. Because of Jesse’s continued passion, professionalism, and involvement in the local music scene, he went on to either record and/or perform for Shoot to Please (303 Records), Nick O’Connor & Pilgrim Road, The Generation, and Ellary.
During college, Jesse started writing songs and officially released his first solo track “Before I Go.” Because he grew up learning the instrumentation of the rhythm section, he was able to multi-track in the studio and virtually become a one-man-band.
In 2009, he recorded “Far Below.” The song captured the attention of filmmakers Dieter Wiselogel and Mike D. Gough (Hell Bent for Victory, Autumn Angel) and soon became Spencer’s first official music video. The video ranked as a top finalist in a nation wide music video competition.
In 2010, Jesse teamed up with sound engineer Nathan Schroeder to work on “Brand New Day” – his highly anticipated debut release. With soaring trumpet melodies, calming string arrangements and heart wrenching lyrics, it proved to be a solid culmination of Spencer’s musical and artistic expression.
In the spring of 2011, Jesse joined singer/songwriter Paul Beveridge and his Indie-Rock band, Paul Beveridge & Company. Jesse also continues to play for Ian Stewart, Running Five, and The Generation.
